In 2015, the autumnal equinox falls on September 23 at 4:21
The word equinox means "equal night"; night and day are about the same length of time. This occurs two times each year: Vernal in late March and Autumnal in late September.
In addition to the (approximately) equal hours of daylight and darkness, the equinoxes are times when the Sun's apparent motion undergoes the most rapid change. Around the time of the equinoxes, variations in the position on the horizon where the Sun rises and sets can be noticed from one day to the next by alert observers.

Mabon ~ It is the time of the autumn equinox, and the harvest is winding down. The fields are nearly empty, because the crops have been plucked and stored for the coming winter. Mabon is the mid-harvest festival, and it is when we take a few moments to honor the changing seasons, and celebrate the second harvest. On or around September 21, for many Pagan and Wiccan traditions it is a time of giving thanks for the things we have, whether it is abundant crops or other blessings

Ostara is a big one for us, soil temp is just right for first plantings. We still have a few weeks of frost expected but we try to have all the brassicas and greens in the garden by then. The garden should be ship shape and pastures are at their best for the year. No fire ban yet so we can have a bonfire and maybe even a spit pig. The hardest work for the season is over and we can slow down a bit

NOTHING about me skyclad would make anyone smile, hence the cops hauling me off. just something about a 300 pound bald guy, naked with a sword tends to scare hell out of people. My spell did work however.
