Here at the beach the last few days have grand, temps in the mid 70s with lots of sun. This morning a little change with a few showers and in the upper 50s.
At the farm sunny and upper 40s... And we could use some rain.

It's been unseasonably warm here for most of the fall. We're settling back down to average temp's now; highs in the 50's and lows in the 30's.
The lack of rain has been a serious issue all year for us. The pond is down about 3' which means there's only about 2' of water left. We had a pretty large fish die-off last month. Found 30-40 sunfish floating over the course of a couple weeks. I took the canoe out with a net and scooped them all out. Haven't found any of the bass floating yet. We are expecting 1"-1.5" of rain in the next couple days but with the ground so dry I don't know how much it will help the pond.

So we had our first snow/sleet/freezing rain ... Which lasted about 30 minutes and was all about nothing. Our area did see a good amount of rain which was badly needed. More rain coming in tomorrow.

Yep. We're expecting some rain tomorrow as well. Might start out as a little slush. It won't be enough to make much of a difference. We could use a steady 2-3 day moderate rainfall.

2 inches of much needed rain yesterday and much cooler temps on the way in ...(alright, much "colder" temps)

We squeaked out a little over half an inch. Not much help. With only 2' of water left the pond is going to end up freezing solid and we'll lose all the fish.

What size pond do you have? Could you use a solar pool cover/blanket to try and save the fish?

What size pond do you have? Could you use a solar pool cover/blanket to try and save the fish? I'm sure they make solar covers that big but at 1/4 acre, I believe it would be out of my price range. I was going to attach a pic but there's a 1MB limit. All my pics are over that.
