The first suspect named in a Nov. 22 mass shooting in New Orleans was being held in jail on a $1.7 million bond after turning himself in, police said. Authorities have set a preliminary hearing in the case for Dec. 8. Police said 32-year-old Joseph "Moe" Allen and several others were involved in a gunfight that wounded 17 people at New Orleans' Bunny Friend Playground after a neighborhood parade. Allen was also being held without bond on an otherwise unspecified out-of-state warrant, The Associated Press reported. Police spokesman Tyler Gamble said Allen turned himself on Saturday, one day after being identified as a suspect. Allen faces 17 counts of attempted first-degree murder, The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune reported. Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office records show he is a convicted felon with a rap sheet dating from 2002 that includes home invasion, carjacking, illegal carrying of weapon and possession of cocaine and heroin, the newspaper reported. www.usatoday.com/story/news/2015/11/29/new-orleans-park-shooting-suspect-held/76547580/This did not get picked up by the MSM ...
